Recently, Dr. Cuneo spoke to the participants of our Rockland County Mentoring Collaborative Program (RCMC)  held at Dominican College. This is a long time  peer mentoring program matching students from Spring Valley High School with college students from Dominican College. Exceptional thanks to our collaborative partners Sister Barbara McEneany, Dominican College, Spring Valley High School and The Mental Health Association of Rockland County.

The Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMP) held at the Haverstraw Village Recreational Center, concluded its 2017-2018 program last month. The fun evening included a picnic and a wiffle ball competition along with Grand Finale Entertainment:  DJ Alo  - who played great music from beginning to end. The program began with short introductions by BBBS CEO, Gillian Ballard andBoard Members: Edward Brignoni, James Lugo, Jennifer Sislin and Justin Valle,followed by a presentation from Chief Barbera of the Police Department for the Rockland County Sherriff, Lou Falco. The Big Brothers Big Sisters "ATA" (Aglialoro Tutorial Academy) was successful once again in aiding the academic progress of our mentees! An outstanding thank you is extended to all those wonderful tutors who are taking their time to help our mentees (students) achieve their intellectual potential! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland should like extend a huge thank you to AB LaRoche, Life Skills Coach, for speaking at the Juvenile Mentoring Program held at the Haverstraw Center. The kids were so intrigued to hear about AB's life story and how successful she became after overcoming many personal challenges. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland should like to thank two Girl Scout, Heart of the Hudson, troops for adopting two families from our 1-to-1 community program by providing much needed holiday gifts and a delicious holiday dinner. We love seeing youth in our community understand the need to give  to people suffering hardship -  especially during the holiday season! Thank you from the BBBS family and those families you so kindly helped!!
